Frequently Asked Questions:

Post any questions regarding interactivity class, programs, projects, etc.

Q: My idea was "collecting" pockets for project 1: all kinds: on dressshirts, hoodies, skirts, vests etc.. I was going to take a close up of shot of these pockets, capturing as much of the pocket as possible. The results are a bit abstract, not in every case it is obvious that I am "collecting" pockets.

Do you think this is a problem?

A: Sounds interesting and unusual. Have you tried any photos yet? This may answer your own question as then you can see how succesful the photos are at capturing the essence of a pocket.

Go for tight shots and look for characteristics that make a pocket.

Again, try it out and see. Only that way will you know for sure.
Q: My exercise 1 is having problems in firefox but is running perfectly fine in safari is there some code that code possibly fix this problem ? I believe there was something that could fix similar problems last year but I cannot remember exactly how or what to do.

Here is the css code for the "textbox" that is messing up in firefox. The only problem is that the line spacing is completely different in firefox than in safari (safari is the proper one).

/* my container */
left: 0;
right: 0;
top: 0;
bottom: 0;
margin: auto;
position: absolute;
width: 960px;
overflow: hidden;
color: ;

/* my type classes */
.textbox1 {
font-family: "Courier New", Courier, mono;
font-size: 24px;
line-height: 1px;
font-style: absolute;
text-align: left;
letter-spacing: -2px;
font-weight: bold;
font-variant: lowercase;
text-decoration: none;
color: #cacaca;
You will need to be more specific. Can you post sample of your code so we can check it?

I think Firefox displays type a tiny bit differently than safari etc, so they'll never look exactly the same... which is annoying.

Maybe check to see if there are problems in your code though? Like, I'm not sure, but I don't think "font-style: absolute;" exists. - Katrina

You need to put your line heights in %. It fixed mine more than having it in pixels.
Q: There is no file in the course_groups folder on digital locker, how do we upload our exercise 1?
A: I'm pretty sure we are doing that in class today just as a refresher for everyone. Check here
